LEXINGTON, OH - Main Street Market in Lexington has announced it will be closing.

The business made the announcement via its Facebook Page. The statement cited weekly sales volume as a reason for the decision to close down.

Stoodt's Market in Bellville will not be affected by the closure, according to Main Street Market.

The statement reads as follows:

Based on weekly sales volume management has made the decision to close Main Street Market effective on or before March 31st, 2019. For those that shopped, we sincerely appreciate your business. Stoodt’s Market in Bellville will not be affected by this closure as sales volume has remained strong in The Valley. Please stay tuned to this page for further updates and price reductions on remaining inventory.

Main Street Market moved into the old Geyer's building on Main Street back in March of 2018. Geyers moved out of the building back in 2017.

At the ribbon-cutting event on March 25th, 2018, Jason Potes, the owner of the store, stated 67 cents on every dollar spent at his store stayed in Richland County and Lexington, rather than going out of town and out of state like the big box stores in the area.

Veterans also received 5% off at the store every day.
