ASHLAND, OH - Troopers from the Ashland Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol responded to a serious injury two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Township Road 653 and County Road 1302 around 7:00 PM on Thursday.

According to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of the Chevy was traveling west on County Road 1302 and, in an attempt to turn south onto Township Road 653, pulled in front of the dark blue Ford F-150, which was headed eastbound. The Ford F-150 came to rest in a nearby driveway after running through the yard of a residence. The Chevy crashed into a ditch, with the back end of the car sticking up out of the ditch at an angle. The front ends of both vehicles were heavily damaged.

The driver of the Chevy sustained serious injuries but was in stable condition as of midnight. The driver of the truck, as well as their two passengers, sustained only minor injuries. The crash is under investigation, and drugs are a suspected factor.

Other emergency responders that responded to the scene included those from the Ashland Sheriff’s Office, Polk Heavy Rescue, and Ashland Fire & EMS.
