COLUMBUS, OH - Richland County Foundation's "Mansfield Rising" plan was presented during the Greater Ohio Policy Center's annual summit in Columbus this weekend.

The summit is a helpful resource for experts, policymakers, and leaders in Ohio looking to gain new perspectives on growth and prosperity within their communities. The GOPC supports the idea that the revitalization of a community requires individual citizens who are capable of seizing opportunities, respond to adversity, and lead the community in executing a plan. This type of citizen-led renaissance appears to be exactly what Richland County Foundation had in mind when "Mansfield Rising" was developed.

Richland County Foundation Senior Community Investment Officer Allie Watson presented the plan, which was created by a group of 15 citizen consultants. These individuals were selected by the Richland County Foundation in order to provide a higher level of depth and authenticity to the plan. They were even awarded a grant to attend the South by Southwest Conference in Texas last year, where innovators in entertainment, business, and event government flock to exchange ideas.

Watson was one of four people on a panel that discussed Civic Capacity: Building the Foundation for Revitalization. She presented along with Derek Santos of the New Bedford Economic Development Council, Brian Boyle of Issues Media Group, and Erica Spaid Patras of Great Ohio Policy Center.
