UH Samaritan Richland Health Center Construction Begins

RICHLAND COUNTY, OH - University Hospitals held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday for its upcoming Samaritan Richland Health Center. 

The 30,000-square-foot health center will house an urgent care as well as laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, office suites for specialists and primary care physicians, and community space for educational needs, including screenings. 

The building will be located at 1033 Ashland Road and will offer access to State Route 42 and State Route 30. 

CBLH Design are the main architects for the building. 

"The new UH Samaritan Richland Health Center will allow us to meet the increased demand for outpatient services and provide primary and specialty care in Richland County communities," Richard A. Hanson, President, UH Community Hospitals Western Region and Ambulatory Care, stated in a press release. "The planned new construction exemplifies our commitment to improving access to the highest quality care in an efficient patient-centered environment." 

"We welcome University Hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity for significant and positive investments that will keep our community vibrant and healthy," Said Richland County Commissioner, Darrell Banks. "As one of the most forward thinking health care systems in the country, University Hospitals will provide extraordinary benefits to our community for years to come."

Construction of the facility is expected to be complete by 2nd quarter 2020.
