ASHLAND, OH - Matthew Failor was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio before he went on to become a record-breaking dog sled musher. Coming right off the heels of his 18th place win at the Iditarod, Failor made the trip back from Alaska to Ohio to speak with the Ashland community on Thursday.

"It's really flattering," Failor said. "It feels a little strange, to be honest with you. I've never been in a position where people want to hear my stories. To me, I'm just a guy with a bunch of dogs. I race them, it's a little peculiar because it's so different to life down here, but it just gives me a good feeling. It's really welcoming. It's nice to come back here and kind of feel the love from Ohio."

Failor talked to the small crowd that had gathered about his life in Alaska, the Iditarod Races, and what it's like as a musher, among other things. For more information on Failor or to see updates from his team, visit his Facebook Page.
