BUCYRUS, OH - 12 year old Dylan Coppler is a 5th grader at Bucyrus Elementary School.  In his free time, Dylan enjoys practicing and performing on percussion instruments - like drums, buckets, or whatever he can get his hands on.

"I have been drumming basically my whole life.  My dad showed me a video of ACDC and I fell in love with it. I just basically have been playing my whole life - and bucket drumming too," Dylan said.

Dylan is mostly known to play the drums on a set of buckets as a street-performing musician, similar to acts seen in bigger cities. While Dylan has been performing for over three years, it hasn't exactly been all fun and games - on Thursday, police showed up to Dylan's performance outside VFW Post #1078 and had him shut down over noise complaints.

"I felt bummed because I already had it happen to me one time," Dylan said.

The commanders of Post #1078 have fully endorsed Dylan and his music and are committed to letting him continue playing at the VFW, despite the idea that more noise complaints could result in fines being issued.

"The VFW is more than welcome to have such young talent as this come in and play drums," said Chris Palmer, Vice Commander of VFW Post #1078. "We would definitely try to get a permit since we are 'right outside the business district', according to the Bucyrus Police Department. Permits are more than welcome to come for such a young talent like this. The VFW fully supports the Bucyrus community children."

Dylan's music can be found at Dylan's Music Page on Facebook.
