MANSFIELD, OH- The Richland Carrousel Park celebrated Easter on Saturday with a community Easter egg hunt.

Sharon Bishop, Co-Director of the Richland Carrousel Park, said that the event had an excellent turn out despite the weather.

"This is a big day for us.  We have the Easter bunny here now, he'll be here until 4.  We had an Easter egg hunt and we had people all over, " Bishop said.  "Now we did hold it inside so the kids would stay safe and wouldn't be muddy and everyone seemed to like that.  Everyone got eggs and we had special prizes."

Bishop said that although the Easter egg hunt was in the morning, the Easter fun lasted all day long.

"It's an all day party.  The grill's out there with hotdogs and brats," Bishop said.  "It's a fun day no matter what the weather.  It's a great day at the carrousel."

The yearly Easter event, and all of the holiday events at the carrousel mean a great deal to the Mansfield community.  According to Bishop, they allow families to have fun together and escape from the everyday stresses of life.

"We need to do more with families and kids and just having fun, and get rid of the stress in life and this will certainly get rid of stress," Bishop said.
