ONTARIO, OH - It was a special day for 10-Year-Old Blake Dininger and 7-year-old Austin "Kade" Dininger, even if they were not aware of it.

Shelby Dininger, who serves in the military as a petrolium supply specialist, was deployed for nine months in the middle east. Those nine months seemed like more than a year to Blake and Austin. Both would often watch YouTube videos of soliders coming home and suprising thier families in preperation of their dad's eventual arrival back home.

However, it got to a point where they would just feel sadness from each video. Each video reminded them that their dad was not home, and that they will have to continue to wait to see him.

Shelby and his wife, Felicia, with the help of the Ontario Local School District, decided to plan a surprise that Blake and Austin would not forget.

Shelby said that since he has joined the military, he knew a moment like this would come.

"This has kind of been five years in the making... we just never had the opportunity to do it," Shelby said. "When we found out I was coming home we were like 'oh my god, we can actually pull this off.'"

Blake and Austin originally thought they were going to have lunch with their mom and grandma. The last time they talked with their father was one week ago, so they thought he was still in the middle east.

When the time came, Shelby approached his sons and tapped their shoulders. When they turned around, after a brief moment of shock, they leapt into their fathers arms.

"I'm a little shaky... we have been looking forward to this for a really long time," Felicia said. "My heart melted as soon as he came in and they saw him."

Shelby is on vacation for the next three weeks and plans to go to Niagara Falls with his family.
