MANSFIELD, OH - 911 audio has been released of a phone call that a 79-year-old woman made when she found a red truck on her property. Little did she know that truck had been stolen by a man who was on the run after threatening an ambulance driver and escaping transport.

Travis L. Thornburg had voluntarily committed himself into Wooster Community Hospital on May 3rd, claiming to be both homicidal and suicidal. Thornburg was being transported southbound on I-71 by ambulance to be treated in Columbus when he threatened the other occupants in the vehicle, forcing them to pull over so he could escape.

Thorburg fled westbound towards a home on Hicloy Lane and stole a red Ford 350 pick up truck that he found there. He drove it toward a property on Cemetery Road and parked it there before fleeing into a wooded area. The owner of the property then called 911, saying, "I don't know if this is an emergency, but I have an intruder on my farm."

The caller went on to explain that there was a red pickup truck parked near her barn, and that the man inside had gotten out and fled on foot into the nearby woods. Once dispatch had gotten a clear description of the vehicle and the intruder, they told the caller to lock her doors and sent officers to her location. "That's it, okay, that's the vehicle we're looking for... just lock your doors, okay?" The dispatcher said.

Thornburg was apprehended by the Ohio State Highway Patrol shortly afterward in that area. Thornburg was transported to the Richland County Jail and now faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle and menacing.
