Richland Chamber Director Receives Top 50 Award

MANSFIELD, OH - A director with the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development has been recognized for his hard work in the county. 

Barrett Thomas, the Director of Economic Development at the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development has been named one of North America's top 50 Economic Developers of 2019. Thomas will be presented with the award at Consultant Connect's ECONOMIX event in Charleston, South Carolina this December. 

Thomas was chosen based on nominations by colleagues in both the economic development industry and the site consultant community for excellent practices, innovation, and success in building the communities served. 

"This annual list recognizing North America's Top 50 Economic Developers is designed to acknowledge the hard work of the top leaders in this field and elevate the conversation around economic development and job creation." said Ron Kitchens, managing partner of Consultant Connect. "Each of the leaders represented on this year's list are beyond deserving of this recognition for thier efforts in building our communitites." 

"We're thrilled to have Barrett Thomas included on this list." Jodie A. Perry, President/CEO of the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development states. "Since joining the Chamber/RCDG, he has worked hard to lead economic development efforts to better our community." 

Thomas says the award will help put more spotlight in Richland County, and that the award was a result of the entire chambers efforts to improve the local community. 

"Having this award go to a place like Richland County really helps to put us on the map," Thomas said. "Economic Development is a team sport... a lot of really great people who are willing to share thier time and experience... that how we got here."

Consultant Connect is a consulting agency designed to bridge the gap between economic developers and site consultants.
