MANSFIELD, OH - For the sixth year running, the Richland School of Academic Arts hosted its annual "Rockapella" musical program, a concert performed by students of the school in the style of classic rock.

A concert program, written by the Richland School of Academic Arts Music Director, Chesley Talisse, congratulated on the students' hard work: "I have watched them work countless hours on their music and have watched them push each other beyond what they ever thought they were capable of!"

Several of the covers performed at the concert included Otis Redding's "Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay", Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely", Deep Purple's "Smoke On the Water", Aretha Franklin's "Respect", and Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust."

"We take pride in the arts here," Talisse said in an interview. "We try to do everything to showcase joy with our music-making. These are middle-school students that are playing guitar, singing, and playing piano, and it's important to us because we do believe that music brings a lot to this community."

Several hundred people attended the concert, which took place at the Richland Arts Theatre within the Richland School of Academic Arts on 1456 Park Ave West.
