Body Found In Muskingum River Confirmed To Be Missing Boy

KNOX COUNTY, OH- The body recovered from the Muskingum River has been identified. 

The Knox County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Friday that the recovered body was 15-year-old Narayan Darnal. 

DNA testing and other factors lead to the identification of the body. 

The Knox County Sherif's Office and Muskingum County Sheriff's Office worked together on the case. 

On June 18th, The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office contacted the Knox County Sheriff's Office concerning the body of a male found in the Muskingum River near Dresden.

Officers from Knox County then made contact with the family of 15-year Darnal Naryan of Columbus who went missing while swimming in the Kokosing River in Early June. At the time, photos of clothing from the body were shown to the family, but a positive identification was not made.
