Victims Identified In South Park Shooting

MANSFIELD, OHThe Mansfield Division of Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred at South Park on Brinkerhoff Avenue shortly before 2pm.

The two victims have been identified as 20-year old Damauri Rawls and 21-year old Jamarion Grillier.  

Police responded to the South Park area at 1:56pm on Monday.  While enroute to the park they received a call that two male shooting victims were seeking treatment at a local hospital.

Limited information is available on the victims status, but there were both alert when police spoke with them at the hospital.

According to witnesses, the shooting occurred while the victims were sitting in their car with their flashers on.  The car was stopped in the middle of Brinkerhoff Avenue when a dark SUV pulled up beside the passenger side of their vehicle.  Shortly after, shots were fired and the suspect's SUV fled south towards Maple Street.
