SHELBY,   OH - The Shelby community will once again be invaded by bicycles with the Shelby Bicycle Days starting this week.

The annual event offers events and activities for attendees of all ages that includes the 28th Annual Shelby Bicycle Day Parades as the city looks to honor and celebrate it's long history of manufacturing bicycles.

Shelby Bicycle Days Co-Chair Felicia Albert said the event will have food vendors, inflatables for kids, and a fireworks show with a band playing music during the show.

The event is even giving away a free bike to a child who completes all six of the activities on their child's passport after Saturday's firework show.

Albert said that attendees can actually walk and take a tour of the old bicycle plant that produced the famous Shelby bikes from the 1920's all the way up to 1953, the legacy of which the Shelby Bicycle Days Festival is built around.

Albert encourages everyone to visit Shelby to take in the rich history and culture that the Shelby Bicycle Days showcases.
