MANSFIELD, OH - Mrs. Michelle Patrick was named the new principal at ABRAXAS School of Ohio in Shelby during the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) Board of Governors meeting that was held on June 26th.

Patrick graduated from Bowling Green where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She continued her education at Ashland University where she later earned a Master's in Educational Administration and Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist.

"I am very excited to be given the opportunity to lead the ABRAXAS school," Patrick said. "My goal is to improve the current educational climate and bridge gap between the school's current partner agencies.

During the past three years, Patrick has been serving as a Special Education Consultant for several MOESC client districts. Prior to her time as a consultant, she worked as an Intervention Specialist at ABRAXAS.

"We are excited that Michelle will be working with our ABRAXAS students again as the building leader," Interim Superintendent Ed Swartz said. "She will do a fantastic job helping our staff provide top rate education for our students."

The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center provides specialized academic and support services to 15 school districts and over 22,000 students in Crawford, Morrow and Richland Counties. These services are provided to their clients by curriculum, gifted and special education consultants, speech pathologists, psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists and physical therapists.
