111 Grams Of MDMA Destined For Mansfield Intercepted

MANSFIELD, OH - Approximately 111 grams of MDMA that was en route to Mansfield was intercepted by multiple agencies. 

On August 16th, Homeland Security Agents from the Cleveland Field Office notified the METRICH Enforcement Unit that a parcel destined for the city of Mansfield, Ohio contained approximately 111 grams of MDMA. The package was intercepted coming into U.S Borders. 

The METRICH Enforcement Unit, Homeland Security, and the U.S Postal Inspectors assisted the Mansfield Police Department on August 22nd with a controlled delivery of the MDMA to 231 West Fifth Street in Mansfield. 

A search warrant was executed after the delivery. Three occupants of the residence were interviewed. They were not taken into custody. 

The investigation into the source of the MDMA, which originated in Belgium, is still ongoing and charges will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor's Office once the investigation is complete. 

In a press release, METRICH Sgt. Steve Blust stated the collaboration between the federal law enforcement agencies and the METRICH Enforcement Unit continues to ahve a positive impact in removing illegal drugs from coming into Mansfield and Richland County communities.
