BUCYRUS, OH - A Bucyrus man is in custody after threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend and her family.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff's Office, 27-year-old Dimitri Austin Miles was enraged after learning that his ex-girlfriend had begun seeing someone new. Miles drove to her residence at 3:00 AM, entered the home, and produced a 40-caliber Hi-Point pistol.

Miles began arguing with the couple and threatened to kill both of them, pointing the weapon at the pair while they were lying in bed with two young children. Miles struck the man in the face several times and fled the residence in a vehicle, firing several shots in an unknown direction as he left.

Dimitri Miles was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday morning at his home in Bucyrus. He matched the description given by several witnesses at the woman's home, and a weapon was found in Miles' car matching the one that was described during the incident. Miles was charged with Aggravated Burglary, a first-degree felony.
