MANSFIELD, OH - The Mansfield Division of Police has launched an investigation into two females who claimed they were from "Children Services".

A report was taken in the area of Sycamore Street and West 3rd Street from a concerned citizen who advised that two unknown white females came to her door stating that they were from "Children Services".

The resident refused to open the door after the two females requested to enter and talk. The resident then confronted the two women about their identity and not being from Children Services. The two women then walked away.

Richland County Children Services notified the Mansfield Division of Police that they did not have anyone from their agency responding to the listed location.

The two females are described to be in their 30s. The complainant described the two women as a tall white female with short hair and a white female with long hair and wearing glasses.

The Mansfield Division of Police is working to identify the two females and is asking for the public's help. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mansfield Division of Police at 419-755-9724 and ask for Officer Charles Hamilton and/or a supervisor.

The Police Departments reminds citizens that if someone cannot display proper identification and/or they are acting in such a way as to make you questions their identity or make you feel uncomfortable, please disengage in conversation and call police immediately.

It is advised that you do not allow anyone in your home if they cannot provide the proper credentials and/or identification.

No further information in regards to the investigation is available at this time.
