MANSFIELD, OH - John Sherman Elementary School's Sarah Fedeli was named the MIX 106.1 Teacher of the Month on Friday.

Sarah Fedeli works with special needs kids at the school. She teaches in classrooms with 8 or more students, and has taught in the Mansfield City School District for 14 years.

Chelley Kemper and Tony Mitchell from Mix 106.1's Tony and Chelley Morning Show arrived at John Sherman Elementary School on Friday to present Sarah Fedeli with a plaque naming her the Mix 106.1 Teacher of the Month.

Fedeli also received a $50 VISA gift card from ES Consulting, a plaque from Mid-Ohio Trophy, a $50 certificate to TGI Fridays, and an apple basket from Apple Hill Orchards.

A parent of one of Fedeli's current students wrote a letter to Mid-State Multimedia nominating her for the award. In her letter, she states that Fedeli has been a blessing to their daughter. They went on to further state that after an incident in the school last year, they were not sure if they could trust any teacher again to work with their daughter, but after meeting Fedeli, they knew that their daughter was in the right hands.

"When you see your child run to their teacher with open arms and a big hug, you know the teacher is great." the parent stated in the letter.

"I love my kids, it really is an honor to be chosen for this." Fedeli said. "Everyday brings its challenges, but it also brings smiles."
