Janice Karon Lookabaugh, 72, of Mansfield, died Saturday, February 9, 2019 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Marietta, Ohio on December 20, 1946 to the late Alva Hartshorn and Betty (Rolland) Ruhl. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1966. After high school, she met her soul mate and best friend, Thomas R. Lookabaugh, whom she married on January 21, 1967. Janice was a loving mother to seven children. She loved to cook, bake and most of all spend time with her family. She never met a stranger, and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. In her later years, she spent a lot of time playing her games on the internet and loving her dogs.

 

 

 

She is survived by her children, Brian (Tracy Baker) Lookabaugh of Galion, Toni (Jeff) Binion of Mansfield, Craig (Cristina Ray) Lookabaugh of Bucyrus, Troy Lookabaugh of Mansfield, Joell (Keith Rush) Soria of Mansfield, and Adrienne (Eddie Tackett) Lookabaugh of Mansfield; two sisters, Patricia (Mike) Roberts of Ashland and Marilyn Bauer of Florida; one brother, David Hartshorn of Ashland; sisters-in-law, Kathy (David) Paone of Mansfield, Darlene (Jerry) Birchfield of Mansfield, and Joyce Lookabaugh of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Bill Lookabaugh of Mansfield; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

 

 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lookabaugh; son, Thomas Lookabaugh II.; her mother, Betty Ruhl; father, Alva Hartshorn; mother-in-law, Constance Tisdale; father-in-law, Gaylord Lookabaugh; granddaughter, Brandi Smith; and brother-in-law, Anthony Tisdale.

 

 

 

Family and friends may visit from 1:00-2:00 pm on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S Diamond Street. Pastor Bruce Copley will officiate the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
