Barbara J. Saunders, 77, of Mansfield, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus. She was born June 28, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

 

 

 

Barbara, also known to some as "Sarge," served ten years in the Women's Army Corp. She was an experienced Criptographer and worked her way to the rank of Sergeant. She retired from Therm-O-Disc following twenty-seven years of service as a press operator. Barbara was a member of Peace Fellowship Church and a thirty-five year member of the AMVETS. She had a good heart and was a generous lady who was a friend for life to many. Barbara enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and watching NASCAR. Barbara enjoyed going out to eat and going on short trips with her friends. She loved the company of her four cats, Mischeif, Bentley, Lincoln and Wildman.

 

 

 

Barbara is survived by her good friend, Janet Keim; a sister, Shirley Ann Woods of Canton; four nephews; one niece; twelve great nieces and nephews; and two great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

 

 

There will be no calling hours or services at this time.
