Doris (Sparks) McGlothlin, 88, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord and joined her husband in their heavenly home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was born on December 13, 1928 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. She was the beloved daughter to Estil and Vicie (Bradley) Sparks.

 

 

 

Doris was a devoted, precious, sweet, sweet, loving and beautiful mother and grandmother. Her family was her life, and she put everyone's needs above her own. Her full time job was taking care of her family of eight children, and she took great pride in that. She was employed at Mansfield General Hospital for ten years in dietary for the pediatrics unit. She married the love of her life, Leon and the happy couple spent 63 blissful years together. Doris was a member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church.

 

 

 

Left to cherish the many fond memories they shared with Doris are her children, Judy Soltman, Michael (Carol) McGlothlin, Marilyn Durfee, Brenda Taylor, Eddy (Kathy) McGlothlin, Bobby McGlothlin, Rhonda Barney, and Sharon (Clifford) Litteral; grandchildren, Sherrie, Chris, Matt, Alisha, Sherika, J.J., Monty, Cody, Jessica, Christol, Nicholas, Tabitha, Kady, Marissa, Zachary, Cory, Daria, Jarius, and Darius; great-grandchildren, Preston, Sydney, Natalie, Megan, Deklan, Chael, Rylan, Allison, Keegan, Bri, Jesus, T.J., Cyntara, SheDarah, Amari, Destoni, Elijah, Harlow, Giselle, Jermaine, Shyloh, Katelyn, Nial, Carson, Keegan, Keaton, Amarie, Camilla, Roman, Jasiahs, Adrian, Jezekiah, and Miley; great-great grandchildren, Juda, Avery, Mila, and Darion; sister, Faye Easterling (John); brother, Jack (Gaye) Sparks; very special family member, Tom Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon McGlothlin; son, Joseph McGlothlin; brothers, Don, Glenn, and Vaughn; and her sisters, Mildred Johnson, and Delma Rivers.

 

 

 

The family will welcome friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the funeral home. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church, 1169 Mill Rd. Mansfield, OH 44906.
