ONTARIO, OH-  The Ashland Arrows put themselves back to a game over the .500 mark at 6-5, win a 9-3 win over the Ontario Warriors (8-6).

After the first two innings were scoreless, Ashland would get on the board first when Bryce Stormer put the ball in play scoring a run and putting the Arrows up 1-0.  But in the bottom of the 4th, the Warriors would pick up two runs on an RBI double by Avery Fisher that tied the game at one.  Then Jake Gleason would bring home a run with an RBI single giving Ontario a 2-1 lead after four innings.

But Ashland would come right back in the top of the fifth to score three runs with the big shot coming off the bat of Stormer giving the Arrows a 4-2 lead after four and a half.

"Anytime a team puts a couple runs on the board and you come right back and put three back on the board and take the lead back that's huge," said Arrows head coach Rob Lavengood.  "We were able to get our momentum going back in our direction, then Brycen (Light) went out and had a quick inning to get us back into hit again so that was a key part of the game."

Light picked up the win going five and two-thirds innings giving up three runs on four hits with one strikeout.  "Defense played great, just pound the strike zone.  I had three seven pitch innings which is pretty good.  Just pitch to contact and rely on your defense to make plays.

After both teams put up a run in the sixth inning, the Arrows would put the game away in the top of the 7th inning by bringing four runs across the plate making the final 9-3 in favor of Ashland.  Coach Lavengood hopes the win is the start of consistency for the Arrows.  "We're kinda on a rollercoaster this year.  We play really good for a couple of games, then we have a couple of games where we weren't real sharp. Today we were real sharp.  We need to get to the point where we are playing good baseball every time we take the field."
