Tigers Advance To District Championship

LEXINGTON, OH - The Galion Tigers are headed to the D3 Lexington District Championship after a commanding 10-0, 5-inning victory over Willard on Wednesday afternoon.

Leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Galion quickly loaded the bases and proceeded to score eight runs in the inning to finish off the Flashes.

Nevaeh Clark led the team going 2-for-3 with a double, 3 RBI and a run scored in the game. Teammate Gabby Kaple went 4-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and the game-ending RBI in the fifth.

Tigers pitcher Madelyn Thomas was solid allowing only one hit in five innings while striking out three.

"We had strong pitching, solid defense, and good hitting," said head coach Doug Hunt.

Galion will face top-seeded Colonel Crawford on Friday afternoon for the D3 Lexington District Championship and a spot in next week's Regional Semi-final at Findlay.
