Eight Teams Sit In Playoff Position Heading Into Week 7

MANSFIELD, OH-  Eight area football teams are still playoff eligible heading into week seven of the high school football season. 

In Division Six, 5-1 Ashland is ranked 6th heading into this week after a 56-13 whipping of Madison.  The Arrows have a big one coming up this week as they travel to Arlin Field to face the 5-1 Mansfield Tygers who find themselves ranked 6th in Division III region ten after a big 54-17 win over Lexington.  In addition to plenty of computer points, this game could be for the OCC championship.

Ranked first in Division IV region 14 are the 6-0 Clear Fork Colts who roughed up River Valley 52-8.  The Colts will try to keep their foot on the gas as they travel to Heise Park on Friday to Take on the Galion Tigers.  Three spaces down from the Colts in Division IV region 14 are the 6-0 Shelby Whippets who are off to their best start since 1998 after they steamrolled Huron 41-0.  The Whippets are ranked 4th in region 14 as they get ready for 5-1 Edison who is 6th in Division V region 18.

Ranked second in Division Six, Region 22, are the 5-1 Wynford Royals who slipped past Mohawk Friday 7-0.  The Royals will try to make it six straight as they get ready to face 4-1 Lima Central Catholic.  Ranked 8th in that same division is 5-1 Hillsdale.  The Falcons stayed in the top eight after a 48-14 beatdown of Wayne County League foe Rittman.  Also in Division Six region 23, 5-1 Northmor is 4th after beating Cardington 32-7.  The Knights have a big one this week as they host 6-0 East Knox.  

And down in Division VII, region 27, is 5-1 Lucas.  The Cubs are ranked second in their region after running past Coshocton 46-21.  The Cubs will try to keep moving towards the past season again as they travel to Crestline.  The top eight from each region will advance to the postseason after week ten.
